meanwhile preparation for BSidesLjubljana, we are already planning next big thing on Slovenian infosec scene -> 14th of March 0x7E1 (6pm/CET) – SecTalks Ljubljana Demo day, Poligon, Ljubljana.
SecTalks is a not for profit infosec community that was started in Perth, Western Australia and quickly growed to all other Ausralian cities, UK and recently China.
It runs by the local communities for the infosec enthusiasts. We have a mix of meetups for both beginners and people that are already in the field. SecTalks meetups have three formats, Talk & long CTF, Talk & short CTF, and a Ninja Night.

This meetup is a demo session that we run for Slovenian infosec community. We are going to give you a taste of SecTalks meetups. We hope you are going to like it and would like to continue running it and grow your local community. The event is free to attend. Bring a laptop with Internet connection. There will be a short CTF challenge that we are going to team up and play. we team up experienced people with beginners so everyone can learn. There will be also a technical talk.
- Bring your laptop.
- Internet access may not be provided. You may want to bring your own wifi dongles or tether to your iPwns.
- Have a hypervisor software, e.g. VMWare player, Virtual box. It is necessary for running some CTF challenges.
- Based on the number of participates for the CTF, the group may be divided into teams. PREPARE TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS. We will try to team up beginners with gurus. Those that want to go solo are still welcome to do so.
- This is a learning exercise for everyone. The idea is to think about problems, make friends and have fun. Don’t treat it like a competition.
- The winner is the first team who solves the challenge. The winner will win the praise and admiration of fellow attendees. Gentle prods and hints will be offered during the session to move things along if people get stuck. The goal is to learn, not to beat your head against a wall for days on end.
- Have fun. Learn. Mentor if you are able to. Participate, or just socialise. This is supposed to be a fun, learning event for the security and hacker community.
- Know how to run OpenVPN client on your system. This may be required to access CTF server(s).
The event is organised by SecTalks Sydney organisers.
